Residential Experiences: Edinburgh 2016

Our Edinburgh Residential saw us return to Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel. Whilst in Edinburgh we enjoyed trips to Dynamic Earth; Edinburgh Zoo; Museum on the Mound and the National Museum of Scotland. At these locations we participated in a range of workshops including: Natural Disasters; Zoos and Conservation; Heads and Tails (looking at coins); Making Notes (looking at banknotes); and Kists and Keys (keeping money safe). We had nice meals out at a variety of restaurants where the students had the opportunity to experience new food and settings. Our evening entertainment included ‘The Jungle Book’ at the cinema on the first night and on the second night the party split between two theatre shows, ‘Of Mice and Men’ and ‘Mary Poppins’. Once again we caught a train to and from the residential and also used the local bus service whilst in Edinburgh which helps our students enhance their independent travel skills. We also walked between many of the attractions that we visited. The entire experience was hugely successful with all students being a credit to Beverley School. Many students are looking forward to going away again next year.
