Our new topic is Paws, Claws and Whiskers
This is an incredibly fun and broad topic that can be discovered indoors and out.
Lots of zoos have virtual tours of their exhibits which could be much more interesting than watching videos online.
Can your child identify a wide range of domestic and wild animals?
Can your child make the sounds or act out different animals behaviours?
You could play with or role play different animals and toys….. where do they live? What do they eat?
Can your child sort animal toys or pictures in to groups such as sea, land, air…. who lives in the sea? Who can fly? Which ones have 4 legs etc.
If you have pets at home can they help to care for them? Prepare food and feed them?
You could make feeders for wildlife – birds, bees, butterflies, hedgehogs?
When our walking can you spot any birds or animals or maybe even tracks or evidence of wildlife?
Try to create animal art and craft. If you have plastic animals they can be fun to print with their feet and paint. You can freeze them into different shaped tubs and use salt water to defrost and discover the frozen animal.
